SEAMLESS STEEL PIPE (Hot-Finished / Cold-Drawn)

Process: Pierced billet, no weld seam. Uniform structure, higher pressure rating.

Applications: High-pressure/temperature systems, critical process lines, instrumentation, hydraulic systems, OCTG, mechanical tubing.

Key Feature: Homogeneous circumference, better for bending/swaging.

WELDED STEEL PIPE - ERW (Electric Resistance Welded)

Process: Formed strip, weld by electric resistance. Weld seam is heat-treated.

Applications: Medium-pressure fluid transport, structural applications, fencing, lower-pressure process lines, oil & gas gathering lines.

Key Feature: Cost-effective, good dimensional consistency.

  • ASTM A53 Type E/F (ERW)
  • API 5L (Line Pipe - ERW Grades)

WELDED STEEL PIPE - SAW (Submerged Arc Welded)

Process: Longitudinal (LSAW) or Spiral (HSAW/SSAW). Uses granular flux.

Applications: Large diameter pipelines (oil/gas/water transmission), piling, structural columns, wind turbine towers.

Key Feature: Large diameters (>24"), high strength, for major projects.

  • ASTM A139 (Arc Welded)

WELDED STEEL PIPE - HFW (High Frequency Welded)

Process: Similar to ERW but uses high-frequency current. Finer weld, better quality.

Applications: Precision mechanical tubing, automotive components, furniture, medium-pressure hydraulic lines, API line pipe.

Key Feature: Clean weld, good for further processing (galvanizing, bending).

  • API 5L (HFW Grades)
  • ASTM A513 (Electric-Resistance Welded Mechanical Tubing)
  • ASTM A554 (Welded Stainless Steel Mechanical Tubing)
WELDED STEEL PIPE - CW (Continuous Welded - Furnace Butt Weld)

Process: Older method, heated strip ends pressed together.

Applications: Low-pressure plumbing, heating, fencing, low-criticality fluid conveyance.

Key Feature: Lowest cost, not for high pressure or bending.
